Job Responsibilities

The Starter is responsible for providing courteous and professional service to all guests of the club while working as part of the golf operations team. The Starter is primarily responsible for the flow of golf traffic from the 1st tee and the surrounding area. The Starter’s duties include but are not limited to:

• Ensure all players are recorded on the Starter’s report sheets to be cross-referenced with the proshop.
• Ensure all groups tee off as scheduled.
• Inform all players of the “Rules of Play” and other daily information.
• Notify all players of the pace of play guidelines and the role of the play coordinators.
• Communicate with the golf shop in reference to any changes to the starting sheet or any other relevant information.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment around the 1st tee.
• Assist in the set up of golf carts and special events when necessary.
• Be aware of all daily events and activities.
• Promote all upcoming events with customers.

Qualifications

• Exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Love of the game of golf.
• This position also requires the ability to verbally communicate clearly.
